WELCOME TO KARLSRUHE
From the 25th till 28th of September 2016 the twenty second associations’ meeting of the Lighting Societies of Germany (LiTG), Austria (LTG), the Netherlands (NSVV) and Switzerland (SLG) is taking place. For the first time also the Lighting Society of France (afe) is participating in the international symposium.
The conference “LICHT 2016” invites everyone interested in light and lighting technologies to exchange their knowledge and develop solutions for the challenges of the future: The symposium is aimed at practitioners and designers from the areas of technology, planning and
design, science, industry and application, architecture, interior design and art, as well as students from all lighting related fields of study. The LICHT 2016 held in German and English is more international than ever: The conference lectures will be translated into German, English and French simultaneously.
The conference will be accompanied by a big industrial exhibition, presenting newest developments of different manufacturers. LICHT 2016 also offers an appealing programme to encourage an informal exchange in inspiring atmosphere.
The conference is followed by a workshop day on the 29th of September 2016. Here the newly gathered knowledge can be discussed and deepened. The location of the event is Karlsruhe, the city of democracy and justice, technology and science. The city was the bastion of liberalism in Germany’s XIX-century history and is now the seat of the Constitutional Court.
The discovery of the Hertzian waves lead to the foundation of the Light Technology Institute. It is one of the first light technology institutes worldwide and one of the big institutes of the university – the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
The organization of the LICHT 2016 was taken over by the KIT. The Light Technology Institute and the Building Science Group of the KIT and the University of Furtwangen are also supporting the conference. Benefit from the LICHT 2016 by collecting information and exchanging knowledge with other lighting enthusiasts from various disciplines. Maintain existing contacts and make new ones!
The Lighting Societies of Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland and France look forward to your visit in Karlsruhe in the middle of Europe!
